Term: Belwar Dissengulp Pronunciation: Bell-war Dis-in-gulp Related Terms: svirfneblin, Blingdenstone Definition: Belwar, know as Most Honored Burrow Warden, by his people the svirfneblin is a character who Drizzt meets on his first journey to the Underdark. Belwar was saved by Drizzt when Drizzt's drow hunting party attacked the deep gnomes. Drizzt's evil brother Dinin Do'Urden cut off Belwar's hands and sent him back to Blingdenstone as a message for the svirfneblin to not mess with drow territory. Belwar's hand were replaced with a pick axe and a hammer which were both magically enchanted and could be activated by Belwar calling the password, "Bivrip". Belwar travelled with Drizzt on his journey to the Underdark, but decided to stay in Blingdenstone ultimately. Belwar also led the svirfneblin in to war to help the warriors of Mithrall Hall against the attacking drow of Menzoberranzan.
