Re: If Hollywood ever makes a film about Drizzt, whom would
Heh, I have been thinking... Channon Roe would make a great Drizzt too! ^_^ Just give him the same sword play teacher that Orlando Bloom had on LOTR, and we should be all set! As for Orlando... I bet he could make a killer Entreri! ^_^

Re: If Hollywood ever makes a film about Drizzt, whom would
I agree that Orlando Bloom would be good, but he already played a famed book elf as Legolas. I think it''s time to give somebody else a turn. And since Johnny Depp is one of the best actors I have ever seen I think he would be the best.
Re: If Hollywood ever makes a film about Drizzt, whom would
Jet Li wouldent be good for Drizzt I think. I could see Heath Ledger doing it because I allways thought he was a good actor, and he could be made to look like an elf. as for Orlando Bloom he looks like an elf already.

Re: If Hollywood ever makes a film about Drizzt, whom would
Johnny Depp is arguably the best actor and (with lavender contacts) could have that sad look in his eyes. On the pure physicality of the role, Jet Li is best suited but lacking in acting ability. The smae for Orlando Bloom. He may look like an elf; but did anyone see Pirates? He''s reall an awful actor . . .

Re: If Hollywood ever makes a film about Drizzt, whom would
Orlando would be the most gorgeous looking Drizzt, but I don''t think he has the physical coordination to pull off the stunts and twin scimitars. The crew from LOTR said he was a klutz. And I agree - he was awful in POTC! Somehow I feel it should be someone oriental - lithe and with gymnastic and martial arts skills. How about that guy who was the girls nomadic boyfried she met in the desert in Crouching Tiger...he always makes me think of Drizzt for some reason (sorry I don''t know his name)

Has anyone seen the hilarious and brilliant movie ''Shanghai Nights''?

In the film at the very end, there is a Briton fighting Jackie using the Two-Weapon style with scimitars no less... and he is a bloody brilliant swordsman.

anyone who even remotely thinks heath leager diserves a role like this should be stricken to hell for your retardism.......hmmmm.... unless you actually thaught that a knights tale was a good movie.

Re: If Hollywood ever makes a film about Drizzt, whom would
Actually, they used a stunt double to do most of the complicated sword work in that scene. It was a great scene though, and definately got me thinking of Drizzt. I always thought Jason Scott Lee, from Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, would be great for the role of Drizzt, he has an elf quality to his face, and could easily perfom the martial arts needed for the fight sequences. However I do agree that it may be easier to make the film as an animated feature rather then live action.

Re: If Hollywood ever makes a film about Drizzt, whom would
this is you r list of actors who would play Drizzt??
Are you joking???
None of them obviously!
Whoever made up that list needs to read the books I think...you''ve got to be kidding me!
For one thing, it would probably be a little easier if he was actually black don''t you think? Maybe not 100% necessary, but it would obviously seem a little more real. He would have to be a no-name guy I think because it would be hard to take anyone else seriously

Re: If Hollywood ever makes a film about Drizzt, whom would
I think Jet Li would be perfect. He has been trained in two-weapon style since he was a child. He is not too tall, slim and very graceful in his movements. Think carefully on this. He would be perfect!! As for Entreri...Ray Park!! Darth Maul himself!! Agile,he knows how to use his weapons and would compliment Jet Li very well. Think about it people...it would be awesome!!

Re: If Hollywood ever makes a film about Drizzt, whom would
Johnny could b jarl... that could come out fairly good, but he dosen''t have the right look to be drizzt. nooooo way should orlando be given the role of drizzt or and other pretty-boy star for that matter! drizzt should be hot, but still, looks should take a backseat to acting ability! ORLANDO CAN''T ACT!!!!!! i don''t think athletic ability is tooo important... special effects and stunt guys can fake it.

.....or it could just be anime! *te he he* ether way! *grins*

jude law would be a good drizzt, i mean i have to agree with th people who said not orlando bloom, he already got his turn, and johnny depp for jarl all the way!!!
but i think jude law would fit the serious role as drizzt, depp would fit the cocky mercenary for jarl, i dont even want to see orlando bloom''s face in these movies, put him in a chic flic, these books are good and i would puke if orlando bloom was in them.

Re: If Hollywood ever makes a film about Drizzt, whom would
I went with Bloom simply because of this.... he is lost in time or world setting any way being that every movie since the LOTR series have ben either back in time or a fantasy setting he dosent know what is real any more so he could fit into it pretty easy plus being that he was a elf he could fit the drow costume easy. Depp would be a nice pick too but he is just a touch to Rougish for my ideal Drizzt I''d like to see him as Jarlaxle

Re: If Hollywood ever makes a film about Drizzt, whom would
nobody can play drizzt. nobody. i hate all of those actors cept heath ledger. johnny depp is not drizzt. i hate orlando bloom cuz my mom says i look like him and my sister adores him, while i would care less if he dropped off the face of the earth. no way do i look like him. drizzt should be an undiscovered actor that i should choose to be him. otherwise the fans of the books should choose the part of Drizzt Do'Urden.

Re: If Hollywood ever makes a film about Drizzt, whom would
no f ing way would any of them be Drizzt thimk out side of Hollywood for one seccond. If u did that then u would see that none would fit.
and Hollywood destroys books I started reading 1 year ago and have read 14 books. Before that I wouldn"t even read a book if my life depended on it.So what I'm asking is don't kill the only thing I enjoy so much,Drizzt is my role modle, and I'm sorry I dont want to see another film with Brad Pitt or any of them. Why can't Bruce Willus play Drizzt(just Joking)add some one liners and call it a day. I beg u please use a no name actor,im shure u can find someone. Just think of the vamperic features, the agility, the calm but ready look, the caring the inner pain he has and the repect he has for his friens,if u look at these things You will find your drizzt, but if one of these clowns is Drizzt I'll burn my books

Re: If Hollywood ever makes a film about Drizzt, whom would
Ioan Gruffudd; he's one of my favorite actors, unfortunately, he was also Reed Richards in Fantastic Four. He can act, but I'd have to agree that it'd be someone unknown.

Kudos, though, because he is a spectacular choice.

Re: If Hollywood ever makes a film about Drizzt, whom would
I agree comepletely with everything you said. Another considerational factor I think that should be considered though. Every big-name actor/actress has a sort of reputation about them. The kind of roles they do well in, how best they should be costumed, etc. etc. I mean seriously actors/actresses aren't known for themselves or their name. They're known for a certain movie(s)/role(s) they've played in. Fiver blatant examples:
Keanu Reeves = Neo. Kate Moss Trinity(Mostly). Lawrence Fishburn = Morpheus. Kate Beckinsale = Selene. Finally, Milla Jovovich = Resident Evil Movies/Ultra Violet. Big name actors/actresses = big time general audience expectations. Along with that Sports figures same concept.

Go get someone noone knows who they are from almost audience crowd, put him in there. Like was said before keep close attention to detal as described in the novels. You couldn't go get some happy go lucky looking fool cast him as Drizzt and expect it to go over well.

A personal thought on the Hollywood bastardization issue;
Screw Hollywood on this movie(if made). Make sure Hollywood has no part in it. Aside from a very select few actors/actresses and stunt/FX crew, Hollywood should literally be on a restraining order so to speak from this movie's(if made) production. Some people may complain here, consider this though.

Spiderman, Daredevil, X-Men, Fantastic 4. I'm sure there's blatant others but my head hurts too much as it is. :mad2: Everyone of those names are pulled from comics which obviously have an EXTREMELY hardcore following. Even a casual observer of any of those can see at the very least some mishaps.

So in short;

Indie Film FTW. :D

Re: If Hollywood ever makes a film about Drizzt, whom would
Paint Jack Sparrow Black as in midnight black and give him pointy nears no hair and a really wide brimmed hat and viola you go Jaraxle!

And the bad briton from Shanghai knights painted black and given a long white wig would be a perfect Drizzt
